The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, informed that a new salary and pension increase will be announced soon. “The idea is that the people can have the a better integral salary not only related with monetary income, but improving the quality of life by having [access to] houses, food and credits,” said the Venezuelan president.
Chávez urged the Venezuelan people not to let themselves be manipulated by pro-opposition sectors because they are “making up that a 100 percent increase” is needed.
Previous administrations “used to offer miserable pensions and salaries which were frozen,” reminded President Chávez.
On Wednesday, the Venezuelan head of sate delivered 667 discounted vehicles to benefit middle-class families.
The cars cost 40 percent less than vehicles placed in conventional markets.
