Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA)
The member-states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA) express their indignation and reject in the strongest terms the decision announced by the U.S. Department of State to impose sanctions against Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) as part of its unilateral policy of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA) denounces this aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, since it is an action directly attempting against the sovereignty and independence of this sister country and against the fundamental principles of the new integration mechanism decisively promoted by our region.
Before this hostile measure, the ALBA member-states show our absolute support to the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which -guided by a solid conviction of solidarity- has boosted energy cooperation mechanisms to strengthen the unity of the people of the region.
The ALBA member-states show their support to all the initiatives that the Venezuelan government considers to develop under multilateral organisms to denounce this aggression on the fringes of international law that violates the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
The ALBA member-states demand that the U.S. definitively stop the aggressions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and extend unrestrictive respect to the decisions taken to fully exercise our sovereignty, reiterating our will to consolidate social justice and solidarity as the main principles of the Latin American integration.
