Statement
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the accusations of the U.S. State Department against Venezuela contained in the "Country Report on Terrorism" published on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
With the publication of a new "report" riddled with false statements, political prejudices and veiled threats, the U.S. government confirms its permanent line of attacks on independent and sovereign governments such as Venezuela, with the intention to impose, by intimidation, its international policy of dominance and abuse.
The U.S. government, in giving shelter and protection to an international criminal convicted for terrorist attacks like Luis Posada Carriles, has no moral authority to become "planetary judge" in this area, not to mention in detail the illegal practices such as "covert operations" outside its territory or the massacres of civilians in its many fronts.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reminds that an internationally accepted juridical definition of “terrorism” does not exist. It is a term that the U.S. State Department broadly uses to classify governments and political organizations that do not subsume themselves to the U.S.’s imperial intentions of global domination.
The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, at the same as it ratifies its absolute commitment to world peace and the respect of the self-determination of all people, will continue developing a sovereign and independent foreign policy aimed at building a multi-polar world and establishing alliances with countries of its choosing based on mutual benefit and in the spirit of mutual respect.
