Venezuela Condemns Crime Committed Against Libyan Leader Muammar Al Gaddafi

Statement

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemns in the strongest terms the barbaric policy carried out by NATO and its allies in Libya, which has plunged this sister nation into war and subverted by force the institutional order of this country.

The crime committed on October 20th, 2011, against Libyan Leader Muammar Al Gaddafi is emblematic of the crimes perpetrated against the Libyan people by the colonialist powers over the last 12 months, and it shows that a violent policy of regime change has been implemented in that African nation, violating the most basic principles of international law.

NATO’s unilateral and illegal military aggression against a country that did not perform any act of war set a sad precedent that could be used at the convenience of the empire against any nation of the South standing in the way of its domination policy.

Venezuela ratifies its inalienable commitment to peace and reiterates its rejection of the culture of death imposed by Western elites, who today are destroying the earth in order to capture more wealth and the sovereign resources of the peoples.
